Dimpora is an ETH spin-off located in Zurich, Switzerland. At dimpora, we are developing new sustainable performance membranes for the outdoor textile industry. Our mission is to set new market standards by offering high performing waterproof and breathable membranes free from harmful chemicals. The innovative template removal method enables us to work with different types of polymer, which is the core of our technology.
We are currently looking for a motivated and curious student or recent graduate to join our team as an R&D intern. You will possibly have opportunities to develop your role as the company grows.
About the Job
As R&D intern, you will report directly to the CTO, while having a high degree of freedom in organizing your work. Being part of a passionate, creative and driven team of young scientists, you will have the opportunity to learn about the startup world and its exciting dynamic. Your tasks will mainly revolve around the development and optimization of dimpora’s PU membranes and their production process. In addition to that, you will support our team in quality control. Your work will contribute directly to dimpora’s success and you will be able to follow up closely on scale ups and possible routes to market of our membranes.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Development of R&D plans
- Conducting hands-on laboratory work to achieve set project milestones
- Performance analysis of membranes and interpretation of the results
- Development of an internal business case
- Bachelor or Master degree in chemistry, material science or related field
- Experience in practical laboratory work
- Very good verbal and written communication skills in English and/or German
- Strong motivation to tackle challenges
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills
