We are looking for highly motivated students to join our recently awarded ETH Pioneer Fellowship project on alternative foaming agents for bio-based plastics. We use a low temperature high-pressure micro-foaming technology based on a novel water-gas foaming agent aimed at enhancing mechanical properties of bio-based plastics for various applications.

The goal is to engineer best polymer building block as starting materials for the standing technology and establish their overarching reaction chemistry. We are looking for candidates with a background in organic chemistry and interest in renewable resources and circularity.

The candidates are expected to work on a flexible-time format (Hilfsassistent, Semester project (part or full time) or upon agreement). The student will be awarded a scholarship. There is also a possibility of a embedding the work in a Master thesis (please contact: for more information).
