Description

The Biomaterials Engineering Laboratory of Professor Xiao-Hua Qin (D-HEST, ETH Zurich) is recruiting PhD students to explore ground-breaking research supported by an ERC Starting Grant and ETH Grant. The main task is to design and synthesize novel hybrid photoresins for nano-3D-printing for next-generation medical implants for bone regeneration. Students with solid skills in organic/inorganic synthesis as well as the motivation for pursuing interdisciplinary sciences and solving real-world problems are strongly encouraged to apply.

For application, please include the following documents:

  • Motivational Letter
  • CV
  • Transcripts of Records (TOR)
  • Contacts of 2-3 references

We look forward to receiving your application and welcoming you to join us to explore cutting-edge cross-disciplinary research. Interested? Please feel free to contact for a personal meeting and lab tour.

More information about our research can be found from our group website and the video.

About Biomaterials Engineering Laboratory - ETH Zurich

The Biomaterials Engineering (BME) belongs to the Institute for Biomechanics of the Department Health Sciences and Technology (D-HEST) at ETH Zurich. BME is a member of the ALIVE | Advanced Engineering with Living Materials initiative as well as the Bringing Materials to Life consortium (BML) of ETH Zurich.

Our mission is to design, synthesize and engineer sustainable, intelligent biomaterials with tailored physicochemical properties for medical applications, such as 3D bioprinting of bone tissues across the nano-, micro- and macro-scales.
