Description
Are you a chemist and interested in designing and ultimately conceptualizing sustainable materials? Do you enjoy finding solutions for complex, new challenges? Would you like to help us solve global plastic pollution by eliminating plastic packaging?
Noriware is a Swiss start-up founded in 2022 that is at the forefront of fighting plastic pollution. With a disruptive Technology developed at ETH Zurich and the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW), Noriware aims to solve the world’s plastic problem in a long-term and sustainable way. We created a solution that is 100% bio- based, biodegradable, and morally justifiable. Our materials are home-compostable within a revolutionary time, and during the composting process, biomass remains, which ultimately can be used as a natural fertilizer.
To further pursue our mission, we are extending our team and are currently looking for an enthusiastic chemist with the aim of growing inside the startup. Would you like to join our team with the required knowledge in polymer science and a focus on natural polymers, using state-of-the-art analytics and machinery to make the most significant possible impact on polymer levels?
You will help shape the future by:
- Optimize, validate and qualify innovative and sustainable plastic solutions
- Gather and synthesize information related to production process development, including patents, academic papers, market reports, and public records
- Developing material synthesis and modification processes along with cost models that serve as a basis for further process development and supply chain work
- Develop materials formulations and synthesis thereof with a focus on:
- Manufacturingtechnologies
- Foodsafety
- Sustainability
- Identify and analyse internal and external problems, including literature research
Your qualifications:
- You have a BSc, MSc or PhD in a chemical, bioprocess field or a related discipline.
- You have an entrepreneurial mindset, and you are eager to take on new challenges
- You bring a solid understanding of chemical engineering principles and bioplastics formulations
- You are a critical thinker who can zoom out and see the big picture while also zooming in on essential details
- You provide hands-on technical expertise to develop innovative products
- You can drive products from the lab to large-scale manufacturing by translating lab recipes into pilot plant trials.
